Still up packing everything into boxes. The movers are coming in, I think, six hours. We shouldn't need more than three to finish packing.
Well that was optimistic. I forget that you are a lot slower when you haven't slept. I packed the last box twenty minutes ago.
The movers arrived at 8, and have been incredibly efficient and polite and strong. Almost all 130 boxes have been carried our to the lorry, and they've dismantled the corner sofa and the frame for our double bed.
Thankfully, we don't need to be there to receive them and direct where to put stuff. The offspring was installed in the house last night, with the cats, and will do the honours.
@cunobaros OOC, how far is the move? Same area, or something more involved?
@bellinghman We have bought a house in Skurup, a small town 30 minutes from Malmö by car or train.
@cunobaros @bellinghman OOh there's a flying museum just up the road, and loads of coast. Looks lovely.
@Antiqueight @cunobaros There’s one of those fun random looking museums nearby as well, the Johannamuseet. Did you pick this place to get the museum hounds to come visit you? :)
@sierrakim @Antiqueight I've seen Johannamuseet on Google Maps and am intrigued.
The aviation museum is next to the motorway, and the first time I drove past I really boggled when I saw their bright red 35 Viggen fighter plane. That's also on the list, as is Svaneholms Castle.
If all these local attractions can lure friends to come visit, that's all the better. There will be plenty of room for guests, once I'm done fixing the place up. :-)
@cunobaros @sierrakim @Antiqueight I have a three-month Interrail pass starting in late May…
@Antiqueight @bellinghman It's a really nice little town, and we have already been recruited by the local Pokémon Go gang.
Looking forward to exploring the area - the aviation museum is only 20 minutes away by bike, and there are many bike paths! - once we have got the house in order.
