Tonight im thinking about how lucky I am. I have a tiny van that has a bed, kitchen, sink, cooker, toilet cupboard, window covers, a mostly working heater, storage, an electric coolbox, & other comforts.
Theres a couple parked near me sleeping in a fiesta. Duvets. Front seats tilted back. No window covers to keep out the cold.
My husband sees them every few days. They're living in it & sleeping near where he sleeps.
We are well beyond a #HousingCrisis. Its a full blown emergency.
Fuck u FFGP
@Cbfoley
Sorry to hear about the troubling situation on your end of the British isles. I don't get a lot of exposure to the happenings in Ireland, but I'm glad that on Mastodon here, we get to talk to people from all over the world.
Is your residence in a mobile home voluntary, or are you the victim of a housing crisis?
I tried looking over a few Irish news headlines, just a cursory search.
What is FFGP? Sounds like a political party, but I couldn't find it.
Two main parties currently on government, Fianna Fáil (FF) and Finé Gael (FG)
They are supposed to be different but they are now so similar people refer to them as one useless entity.
@potungthul
Oh and we are not the British Isles.
Darnit! Sorry, I stand corrected. The Irish Isle, then.

Thanks for the info.
@Cbfoley This crisis is everywhere. It’s an outcome of capitalism, which could’ve been avoided with adequate & equitable taxation & public housing policies. Short sighted Populist politics, appealing to people’s aspirational tendencies during times of growth, has caused this.
