Any #cycling parents got suggestions for rear seats that work with a crossbar and avoid my roundhouse kicking my child?
No.1 has outgrown the front mount seat and trying to avoid buying a whole new bike!
@Des_egan I used one when the kids were small, and just had to develop a new leg swing technique. I never thought of roundhouse kicking the kids
The thing that caught me out a couple of times and we fell once was the weight transfer. With all the weight on the back, lifting the front over kerbs, luas tracks, front door porch etc meant the slightest imbalance instantly pulled the bike over. We went down on the old crane tracks on Dublin quays that way
@ronanmcd Eesh I'd not thought of the weight distribution issue! Hmm...the crossbar option might be worth reconsidering.
@Des_egan the real reason for why step through bike frames should be standard nowadays for non racing bikes..
@Des_egan Is No.1 too big for a kid trailer?
@mtvernonfriends It's the lack of visibility that scares me. I have a trailer but have never used as too worried about our "shared" roads!
