@ShallowWater @mattblaze @sminnee @jxyzn I am an experienced open source developer with experience in helping build a number of open source projects, including some development on open source social media dating back 20 years.

I have found reading about Mastodon's "design" to be largely impossible; even core design decisions ("quote tweets are bad") are not documented in central locations, if at all.

"Go read about the design" doesn't work well if there is no design to read.
