There are a bunch of other social apps, but to be honest #Mastodon for me seems to be the most polished & has the most users (so it's the most social).
If you can think of a good reason to check out the others please let me know why
Some aren't just microblogging, but do other things too.
These are the other apps available:
#Diaspora #Pleroma #Friendica #GnuSocial #HubZilla #Misskey
(so it's the most social)I don't think this terminology is appropriate to designate the software with the most users on a common network. One may say that Friendica and Hubzilla are the most social because they allow to communicate with more users (AP-fediverse + diaspora). Or that Lemmy is the most social because all posts are tied to a given community and nobody has followers.
@liwott This is the great thing about the Fediverse & ActivityPub, they can all inter communicate!
I do find when using the Mastodon app I interact with other Mastodon users more than other Fediverse apps.
Especially within my own instance.
Since it's the most popular the UI & UX is the most polished which I find really intuitive & easy to use.
That was more where I'm coming from, but I understand your point.
@Ombra I've heard Misskey has a smaller footprint and a more polished UI
@optimal it looks chaotic, but in a fun way. I’m getting strong Tumbler vibes from it.
