@SharonMurphyMusic I grew up with dogs my whole life and we always got our dogs from a rescue. Despite knowing the dangers of anthropomorphizing things, I've always been convinced that rescue dogs know they've been rescued and they let you know they appreciate it.

Really interesting Dave. This will be my first rescue dog, so your words are encouraging!
The volunteers at dog shelters are so wonderful! Such rewarding but heartbreaking work. The dog we initially expressed interest in is just too scared of men to be rehomed with any. We hope so much that she finds a suitable new owner.
