It’s time for an NI referendum on the #NIprotocol #WindsorFramework to settle this once and for.
The #dup cannot continue to use the protocol as of way of keeping #northernireland in limbo.
If the people of #ni vote in favour of the protocol the DUP should be forced to take their seat or step down from NI politics, as they will no longer be representing the will of the people.
If the people of NI vote against it… I don’t know! But this situation must be moved forward somehow.
@Steveb seems to be the logical action. A few people claiming to speak for all should be tested at the polls.
@Steveb interesting idea. My worry would be turn out would be low and that would suit the DUP. We'd be rightly fecked if they won.
@SimonB no party can win such a referendum, as such. All I hear all day long from the DUP is that the people of NI are against the protocol. But no one seems to ever challenge that claim. So let’s find out.
@Steveb I honestly think Jeff got bounced into this by Jr. He can't split the party. So he gets to act tough, knowing this will pass. How he gets back into Stormont is another matter.
