Need urgent advice.
The small bird surrounded by the crates has fallen out of its nest on top of the lamp post in the other pic. I’m trying to get some ladders.
When I do, how best handle the bird to get it back in?
Should I wear gloves? Is it ok to touch with bare hands?
I ask, cus you hear things like if the mother can smell humans she’ll kill the chick. Old wives tales I suspect, but need to check.

@Steveb try emailing Kildare Wildlife at info@kwr.ie . That looks like a fairly mature chick so it may very well be natural for it to be out of the nest. That and being able to fly aren't necessarily the same but ask the experts.
@whatatoots I’ve watched a few birds grow and leave the nest from around the house, these are far too young. When they spread their wings you can still see right thru them.
