@spacehobo Oh no way!? I never knew that - thank you! And that's kind of crazy to think that's how quickly the colour changes, wow. TIL.
@clickhere Turns out I was wrong and they pupate! So the colours tend to emerge by the time they get to this level, I think. Anyway, larval stage is only like a month, and time does go quickly for the little bugs. They have a lifespan of a year or two at best.
It may be that you just found a black-and-red ladybug!
