@d4doome Whoa! Drop everything and rent this gorgeous movie ASAP! Coppola produced, Ballard directed and the incomparable Caleb Deschanel was cinematographer. Based on beloved young adult novel by Walter Farley.
@d4doome In the category of 'visually stunning' I would include 'Metropolis' (1927).
@michaelmeckler I agree. I was torn between Murnau's FAUST and Lang's METROPOLIS.
@d4doome I might also add a few other films to the list, such as something from Hitchcock ('Vertigo' would be an obvious choice), 'Citizen Kane', and 'The Wizard of Oz'.
We've all seen the 'The Wizard of Oz' so often and from such an early age that we become inured to the visuals, but they really are quite stunning.
