Alice, Sweet Alice (AKA Communion, 1976) is a Catholic schoolgirl slasher movie with major giallo influences. A weird mix that often threatens to self-destruct but somehow it works.
A movie that has lost none of its shock value but it’s more than just a cheap shockfest. It’s a strange but effective horror film.

@d4doome You are dead on with the clear nod to Don't Look Now. I always mix the two up in my head because of the mask/raincoat connection.
