The other great Carol Reed-Graham Greene collaboration, a year before The Third Man, was The Fallen Idol (1948). A story of growing up, of trust, of lies and of secrets. Lies and secrets can be well-intentioned but have bad results. Great film.

@d4doome This was one of three films that I always associate with my dad, because he loved them enough to enthuse and encourage me to watch them. (A Matter of Life and Death and Olivier's Henry V were the others). I remember as a kid him explaining the POV angles, which he loved. It may also have fuelled the start of my love affair with #RalphRichardson
