Super proud of my son (10) who agreed to be in another research study and to share his information/experiences to make the path easier for those who follow him. I think this is the 3rd or 4th one he's been in but it's only the 2nd that he's been old enough to consent to himself, obvs I've still to sign off on stuff but he understands what the study is about and agreed to it. I love how he's just like "yup, I wanna help little kids have an easier time than I did".
Also being on once a year visits to Crumlin now is surreal. It used to be every few weeks. It's just mad how far he's come. He's been attending their complex #allergy unit and #dermatology for his severe eczema & allergies since he was 13mths old. They saw him very fast at the time because our GP wrote to them and told them how his pediatrician in Waterford was making such a mess of treating him (life-threatening delays in treatment was mentioned).
It's been such a long road. His #eczema showed up when he was 4wks old, he had it from head to toe. It even inflamed his gur affecting his iron absorption. It's been hard work for us all trying treatment after treatment but his skin is 100% clear for the first time since he was a teeny tiny baby.
