I think the #DUP are selling it as a win because they have seen of the challenge from #UUP & #TUV. They are clearly relieved that they are still the biggest Unionist party. The small matter of their shrinking vote share and the fact they didn't gain any seats is something they are glossing over.
They can't even begin to address core problems that #Unionism face. It's vote is shrinking, they can't even convince the voters they have to vote to come out and vote for them

They have to acknowledge that Jeff and his strategy didn't encourage the Unionist out to vote. They want Unionist Unity, that is all well and good but what if they can't find a positive message to promote to the electorate. It doesn't matter how many parties there is - if they can't get their voters out!
Also, looking to the future, it isn't helped when it is led by men - pale, male and stale. Who are Troubles politicians. How do they get the 18 year old to stand on platform?

First of all Jeff, Jim, Doug, Mike and the rest - need to be honest with themselves and then the voters - Unionism isn't growing it's voting base, they don't have a positive message and the biggest problem - what if they can't form a party to compete with #sinnfein
Despite them trying to make #SF & Michelle the bogeyman - people aren't frightened of SF anymore! No matter how much Ben howls at the moon & 
squeals about 200,000 voters voting for the #DUP & #TUV!
