My dear federati: what's the best mastodon instance for an independent artist/maker looking to flog their goods and engage with art lovers and other makers, but living in the UK and not up for the strictness or US centric nature of mastodon.art?
Looking for my mum, Luna, who's had a tough time with social media engagement; I'll be taking her on as a client in the new year and looking for a nice place

@jjcelery I’ve been seeing https://mastoartsocial.neocities.org mastoart.social pop up recently. Seems a lot like mastodon.art but maybe less political? Seems small and cozy though for the time being :)

@jjcelery There are lots of maker types on my instance (sunny.garden) as well as wandering.shop, the latter being much bigger and I think originally geared towards writers. mastoart.social also seems nice although I think their signups are still closed atm.
Or if she's looking mostly to sell and not to post personal stuff, handmade.social is worth a look.
