Reading this am that Cork City Council have refused permission for retention of current use at The Marina Market.
I know there are safety concerns, but the Marina Market has been a hugely exciting, innovative & fun experience. It should be encouraged not closed. Totally retrograde step and destructive to local food businesses
@joannecronin totally agree! Love the marina Market. So they remove rather than fixing whatever issues there are. So out of step with what ppl want!
@joannecronin I haven’t been to Cork for many years, so I hadn’t heard of it before, but it sounds like the exact kind of initiative that should be encouraged.
As someone said elsewhere, perhaps developers have their eyes on the site 
@joannecronin it's a great spot but I'm shocked that they didn't have planning permission for it!
