John O Loughlin

With my current back troubles I hadn't taken the gravel bike down the beaten track recently but since I'm improving slowly I headed down the old bog road this morning, place is still blooming.

@joloughlin lovely photos. Not comparing your experience at all with mine (followed you all summer) but having some small issues myself in lower back and articulating interface with hip. Physio identified it as common with long distance spins.

@ownohmanny I seem to have a prolapsed disc, no MRI to confirm but all the symptoms, sciatic pain down my right leg is the biggest issue. Standing is my biggest problem, walking is a little better in small doses but I can sit and cycle (thankfully) OK now that the pain in my back is more or less gone. I find the cycling frees up the spasms I get in the leg muscles. I had no issues with some very long spins over the summer, so not sure where this came from, work most likely.

@ownohmanny If your physio thinks your troubles are bike related I'd be looking for a good bike fitter to see what he thinks.

@joloughlin yes that's part of the prescription but waiting lists in Dublin are long. Recommendations appreciated.

Seems to be a different problem for me although had leg pain too, now receded with physio.

@joloughlin but also reckon work posture is not great.

@ownohmanny A lot of our lads have great things to say about Barry Meehan in Carrick, not sure what his waiting times are like though, I've heard good things about Aidan Hammond too, Bray I think.

@joloughlin just got a booking for Aidan. Thanks again.
