Essentially, Commision Thierry Breton is basically explaining how lobbying (especially from German car makers) is about to utterly screw over all owners and severely weaken protection for inventors in all technolgy sectors.

He ended this presentation with this statement: "perhaps the only people who will complain about this are acting in bad faith".

America and UK will be rubbing their hands in glee over this.

Jesus wept, every Brexiteer could use Commission Breton's speech to demonstrate everything bad about the EU: ignoring national sovereignty, promoting German business aims at the expense of other states, introducing unwanted bureaucracy, meddling in areas it has no experience in, ...

Honestly, Breton is fucking awful and seems to fundamentally not to understand that a patent is a legal monopoly. Basic stuff.
