Yeah I wouldn’t suggest that either. Lots of dreck passing as journalism. I rely, to some degree, on the journalistic institutions as a first cut in terms of what I read. Not perfect, but a good first filter
Who do you like to read and do they post on here? If not, would you encourage them to do so?

I second the earlier mention of @samtranum of @dublininquirer. I believe @mhdelaney is also active here.
Outside of Ireland, I'm following the @TucsonSentinel - not something I ever considered before seeing them here on Mastodon. Their work on national issues is excellent, and interesting from my outsider perspective; but some of their local stories have also caught my eye.
Local journalism is the future imo, if they can get the support of readers.

Thanks very much! As far as we know, we were the first local U.S. news org to set up a Masto instance and go live with a feed.
