And if you think I’m obsessed with #Covid it’s because I could see back in 2020 that #LongCovid was going to be a serious problem if covid wasn’t suppressed or eliminated, so I’m still bewildered by everything that has happened since then. If I knew, then the healthcare sector knew, politicians knew, influencers knew, they just pretended otherwise
And right now many people are sick again, and just accepting of it?
@oftencalledcathy Agreed. It’s like how we pulled our kid from school when cases hit double digits in our city, only to be told that children can’t get or spread it. Wtf.
@oftencalledcathy i’m so sorry you’re having to deal with this. I found your description of how long Covid makes you feel very touching. “I feel all thin, sort of stretched, if you know what I mean: like butter that has been scraped over too much bread.” #LongCovid #Covid #CovidIsNotOver
@Pineywoozle @oftencalledcathy Interestingly, that is how Bilbo Baggins described how it felt to have been in possession of the one ring for far too much time.
@PurpleShadow Is it a Tolkien Quote? It’s lovely and evocative regardless. @oftencalledcathy
@Pineywoozle @PurpleShadow yes it is, and I do feel like Bilbo. Much older and more exhausted than I appear in public! I’m always spreading myself thinly too, like so many people with responsibilities, never able to meet everyone’s demands or expectations
@oftencalledcathy @Pineywoozle Another similarity is that we become invisible, with the difference that we don't choose when or for how long.
