Finally got round to listening to #TheDropout. Still picking my jaw up off the floor at what #ElizabethHolmes did & how she did it. The investors she defrauded still idolize her, unreal. Hard not to admire the turtleneck on her I guess…
I’m looking for new #podcast recommendations. Prefer in-depth or long-form #investigative podcasts. Can’t listen to any podcast that has sound effects or dramatizes conversations for effect.
Just straightforward storytelling please and thanks
@serentrippety sounds like we like the same sort of podcast. I enjoyed The Dropout too and would recommend:
Finding Q: My Journey into QAnon (Audible)
The Squid Scam: Hunting the NFT Con Artists (Audible)
The Butterfly Effect (Audible)
West Cork (widely available I think)
Sorry most are Audible but they seem to be the ones with the budgets for these long form investigations. It’s also worth downloading the BBC Sounds app as they have a number of podcasts on there.
@aoifemrtn lovely to hear from you
I’ve always avoided audible & when I was thinking about podcasts recently I wondered why, they must be pretty similar. Might try it out. Do you listen more to audio books than podcasts?
The Coming Storm about QAnon & Conviction: American Panic are excellent. I think you’ll like them if you haven’t heard them already.
