So, I’ve started my in ground wormery 👍 Found a few good sites about what to add and what not to add. But when filling my kettle this morning - some loose limescale to dispose of. Can that go into a wormery if ground up/small shards? Chemically I thought it’d be similar to the lime already in soil so safe to add but hoping for advice here from the Compostodon crew 🐛 🗑️

@shivers chuck it in just as it is. It will dissolve in the acidity pretty quickly.

@shivers I'm not an expert. My guess is that it's fine, as long as your kettle is intact (i.e. no metals or plastic that is mixed into limescale). Otherwise it's just very concentrated water. I hope the heating process does not change the properties too much? That I do not know how to estimate.

@shivers we boil water on the #wood stove and we do #compost the scales. In our case it is high in magnesium. We water our #garden with this same water….
