Sadly, there seem to be no people within my observable fediverse who are talking about the #Klon 🙁

I guess I need to try and help with that on Sunday, with a live #CoffeeAndKlon thread. Don’t think I’ve done one of those yet this year? I can’t remember.

Topic will be the #PRS #Horsemeat pedal. Spoiler alert: great great pedal, but not replacing the Klon on my board.

Afterwards, I’ll repost it on the #HomeToneBlog with audio samples.

@stuherbert got a Wampler Tumnus a few weeks back that I’m enjoying a lot, how do you feel it stacks up as go? Also, just wondering if you’ve ever heard of Vox amps acting up with digital pedals? Bane of my life right now: mastodon.ie/@squarepeig/109390

@squarepeig the #Wampler Tumnus Mini is an interesting #klon #klone.

It's a very good choice for anyone who lives on the bridge pickup of a #Telecaster in particular, because of the extra bass it produces.

I find that extra bass a bit problematic for the mighty #LesPaul, especially because I play rhythm in the middle position there.

@squarepeig as an overdrive pedal, I find the #Wampler Tumnus Mini to be at the very top-end of smooth-sounding #Klon #klone pedals, along with the #JRAD #ArcherIkon.

I prefer the #TumnusDeluxe over the #TumnusMini because of the extra EQ controls.

Being able to turn down the bass helps with non-Teles.

The mids control turns the #TumnusDeluxe into a useful tool for fixing tone problems at times too.

@squarepeig I've no experience with #Vox amps, sorry.

Can't say I'd heard of any problems with digital pedals, but it's not really my world.

@stuherbert Cheers, yeah I've got the deluxe version, intended to use it at the start of my chain as an always-on tone shaper and to put a little bit of hair on my basic tone (Strat with Lollar blondes). To be honest while I've liked it I haven't been blown away, but I think that's because everything has been overshadowed by the issue with the amp - seems to be inordinately sensitive to very high frequencies. Probably at the point of selling it at this stage.

@squarepeig have you tried switching the buffer off on the #TumnusDeluxe?

It may not be the cause of your problem.
