The first #apples of #harvest23 have set in our orchard. About 6mm in diameter right now, they'll grow slowly at first, by cell division for the next 8 weeks orvso. After that, they continue to grow, but by cell expansion. They have about 150 days to grow another 70mm in diameter, to turn out as juicy, tasty, ripe apples by next October.

Hope our Jonagold does well in Scotland - a £6 #BareRoot #AppleTree from UK chain "Home Bargains" with no rootstock information, a little gamble last month (maybe I should have waited till next season and planted something more likely to do well here).
@DenkiJidousha It is probably an M9 or M26 rootstock (so it will need support such as a post). The tree should fruit well enough in Eastern/Southern Scotland. For colder parts you'd need an earlier ripening variety.
