Right, the owners of Podkicker Pro have gone all in on ads and ruined the premium app I paid for years ago. So now I need to migrate to a new app, and redownload many hours of listening, grrrrrrrr

Recommendations for apps please!
Must work with Android Auto, do downloading, mark as listened, and fast forward (not just skip to next episode).

No billion dollar companies either, they don't need my cash or my data.

@triploidtree I cannot speak to the auto bit (site claims yes), but you might want to take a gander at Pocket Casts. I use it on iOS, have done for years, and find it quite nice.

@triploidtree pocket casts (can't vouch for android auto) has done me well for years. Actually half toying with the idea of a sub so I can have sync'd play on pc/browser at the moment.

@triploidtree I've been happy with Podcast Republic for years. It's got a car mode but fucked if I know if it works well.

@triploidtree I've been happy with Podcast Addict for many years. It ticks all your boxes although I'm now unsure which functions are in the free Vs paid versions. I paid when I first got it, but they seem to have added a further paid addition on top.
It also includes steaming radio which also works well with Android Auto.
The interface for settings on the phone isn't intuitive, even now it makes me scratch my head - but that's the price for flexibility.

been using Podcast Republic for as long as I can remember.
works well with AndroidAuto has skip/ff and loads of features such as per subscription trim (eg. start 90s in), backups of subscriptions and listened episodes.

@triploidtree Podcast Addict. I've been paying for a while because it works for me. The free version has very unobtrusive ads last I looked. Definitely worth a look to see if it works for you, IMHO.

@triploidtree AntennaPod is very good and has all those features. It's FOSS so the risk of it being ruined by ads is very very low.
