I upgraded my P1S to hardened steel extruder gears and a hardened steel 0.4mm nozzle.

I also picked up a 0.6mm hardened nozzle with full assembly, so I can easily swap between the two.

We’ll be able to print abrasive filaments now (i.e. carbon fiber, glass fiber, wood, etc).

But more importantly, I’m hopeful this will fix some of the print issues I’ve been having.

When I pulled the silicone sock off the old nozzle — well, let’s just say she’d seen better days. 😬

Our home is chock-full of useless junk. We do shed as much as we can, but that takes time, sometimes takes strength to let things go, and as the kids grow up they age into and out of things all the time, so it's a constant battle.

It's interesting in that context to be looking at the uses for a #3DPrinter. I keep seeing lovely cool designs that would look great on my desk or shelf, if I had room, but I absolutely don't. So instead I'm focused on functional prints...

A life benchmark has been achieved.

I, a person who never touched a fricking bus engine before,

Fixed one that is stuck on a hillside, in the middle of nowhere, under scorching sun,

With the skills that I acquired from #3dPrinting...

I plastic welded a bursted radiator tank with a lighter and zip ties.

Only I wish that I have proof of that feat now.
