Added Atkinson Hyperlegible font to #OpulentVoice, along with a font size adjuster in the web interface.

Tomorrow we'll get audio transcriptions tested. The transcriptions will be in the message history window, and can be configured on or off in the configuration file. The UI Audio Replay bubble allows you to replay received or sent audio with a play button. When turned on, transcriptions will appear in the UI Audio Replay bubble right below the audio replay button.

Sorry, but the new detailed response mode for the #MetaRayBan glasses seems like more of a step back than an improvement. Its descriptions seem less hierarchically structured and more inclined to just list random items (or delusions).

Rather than more verbose responses to single questions, it seems like it would be much more helpful for #blind folks to have an ability to ask follow up questions to expand on the basic facts first given.

Hi everyone! How’s your day going?

I’m really excited—my new iPhone 16 Pro Max is arriving tomorrow! 🎉📱

I got a refund from my university’s financial aid office, probably because I had to drop a course due to being sick. After talking it over with my mom, we agreed I needed something positive to look forward to after everything I’ve been through lately.

I’m still recovering from a severe reaction to a medication I was prescribed, and my rheumatoid arthritis has me mostly bedridden. My current phone, an iPhone 13 Mini, is showing its age and not running well. I’ve been using a Pixel 9 Pro through the Google Accessibility Trusted Testers program, but I’ve always preferred iPhones—so I used part of the refund to order a new one from Apple today. It’s scheduled to arrive tomorrow, and I can’t wait!

We’re also planning to launch a GoFundMe soon to help me upgrade my Braille display. The one I have is a few years old, and my dream device is the Handy Tech Activator. My mom really wants to help me get it, and I’m so grateful.

Tonight, I’m planning to reset my old Apple Watch to give to my mom. It’s not working well for me anymore—especially with the pain in my wrists and hands—and it’s too focused on fitness. I tried using it for health tracking, but it wasn’t a good fit for how I manage things now.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you’re all doing okay. 💜

I put all non-WCAG EN 301 549 requirements into an Obsidian vault today. A lot of work, but I hope to connect the different requirements together in a way that makes them testable or at least decide what to advise to clients.

Some seem redundant to WCAG SCs (at least in practice) and many are more requirements for tech specs during implementation (like the bandwidth for audio).

I’m glad I finally got around to really feel these out.

@CppGuy @Lydie Respectfully, unless you need #accessibility features, in which case you need to constantly make sure you are running the exact distro/desktop environment/supporting libs/hacky scripts/environment variables/maintainers/sometimes position of the planets to make sure your computer doesn't become utterly unusable for you. See also an Ubuntu installer which has an inaccessible accessibility page in the installer youtube.com/shorts/C_I3TCLvVpU
So yes, my computer currently spies on me, sells my data to everyone and all sorts of other meh, but at least for the moment, at least it lets me see what I'm doing...

I want to authorize an app to use my #Discord account. You have to scroll all the way down in order to click the authorize button. Trouble is, there's no accessible way to do that. I tried reading the whole page from top to bottom. I tried the #NVDA simulated mouse scrolling commands. I tried entering focus mode and tapping and holding the down arrow key. I tried tapping and holding the page down key. I tried tabbing through the page. Nothing works. #Accessibility #Blind #Firefox

Sound cues are important. A huge frustration I have is my fridge having only one touch button that cycles through 3 options and the same sound for each one. I never know which setting it's on-- cubed ice? water? crushed? Just ONE difference would be super helpful.

What’s one component or design pattern you constantly find accessibility issues with?

It’s a “date picker” or “calendar widget” for me. To this day I’m not sure if I’ve seen one that is intuitive and accessible for people who use assistive technology, or which doesn’t cause excessive cognitive load.
