Tried another white ink sketch, obviously I'm not taking a long time over these I'm just trying to have fun but it's so effective. Sketch and drawing it's based on this time. Really struggling with not being able to do much sketching beforehand as it's super visible. I think I could do black ink and it would be easy to edit out if I was using it for something. #drawing #alien

The U.S. State Department is paying El Salvador $6 million
to house hundreds of immigrants deported from the United States in an immense and brutal prison there,
Centro de Confinamiento del Terrorismo, or #CECOT.

But a U.S. law bars the department’s financial support of “units of foreign security forces”
— which can include military and law enforcement staff in prisons
—  facing credible allegations of gross human rights violations.
That has led those who wrote what’s known as the #Leahy #Law and enforced it for years to question the legality of the $6 million payment made as Trump carries out his campaign of mass deportation.
The Trump administration on March 15 sent 261 men to CECOT,
after invoking the #Alien #Enemies Act of 1798 to apply to Venezuelan nationals 14 and older who are suspected members of the gang Tren de Aragua.
On March 30, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said an additional 17 nationals from El Salvador were sent to CECOT, again alleging gang ties.
On Sunday, #Rubio said 10 more men were sent to the prison in El Salvador, and noted how
“the alliance between” the U.S. and El Salvador
“has become an example for security and prosperity in our hemisphere.”

A weird comment in this article about #extraterrestrial #life and what it means for #Earth. Dr Robert Massey, of the Royal #Astronomical Society "believes that the discovery of even simple #alien life would be the latest chapter in the diminution of #humanity's place in the #cosmos". He says "I think the discovery of life elsewhere... would further reduce our specialness". That's an un- #scientific, subjective feeling, and I don't see it makes any difference/...

"Welcome! Smoking or non-smoking?"

"Smoking or non-smoking what?"

"Seating. An old traditional Earth allowance for tobacco. Like a mall."

"Can I see?"

The insectoid guided me to an airlock. I stepped in and out into the other side and choked on the haze in the room. Little plates with combs rising from the center were placed on the tables, filled with peppery ash. Humans ate with glowing embers on white cylinders. All the staff were silicon-based and seemed unbothered. I stepped backwards into the airlock and sweet, merciful pure air blew through and my coughing subsided. The door opened and the insectoid examined me.

"Non-smoking, please."
