Among the Others seems to be an adventure, Sci Fi series. In a fleshed out world of Otheora, one man is ripped from his world, to one of strange energies, nihilist cults, & a ragtag group.

Below is the sizzle reel. Showing off interviews with the crew, and a bit of the cast. The production has done some interesting ideas to promote the show, that I think any other production could benefit from.

It seems like the movie Trachtenberg was going for here was way too risky and way too ambitious for a studio to green-light it normally. But if he can do that on a fraction of budget. As animation. And not a budget, something like Pixar uses for their ultra-realistic stuff and fluent motion. But on a fraction of that. ...

Also, let's stop calling #Disney's live-action re-dos "remakes" because they are demakes: photorealistic-ish CGI is a less capable medium than other #animation styles. It was obvious with The Lion King but it's always true. The beauty of animation (be it "traditional" or #CGI) is the ability to depart from physical constraints to make characters more expressive and tell stories that would be impractical on film.

Restricting your storytelling to one of the least expressive artstyles out there cannot elevate the story, only weight it down with steel boots. Case in point: how much the novel animation style + expressive faces contributes to #Nimona and #KPopDemonHunters. The Disney style would have made them dull.

Well despite getting pulled away in the middle, that was pretty great! The animatic character designs were good, but the full color ones were amazing!

Voice acting was nice too. Obviously Michael Kovach always stands in the crowd, but I also recognized Nola Klop (ENA, Serial Designation V, and funnily enough Willow Park's Dutch VA). The others who's names I didn't recognize were also good of course. Hala and Void's double voices were really fun!

Putting this right next to Pretty Pretty Please I Don't Want to Be a Magical Girl as pilot animatics I hope to see develop into full episodes just to see the characters in their true forms
