I noticed that someone has uploaded the 1955 Anthony Mann / Jimmy Stewart movie "Strategic Air Command" to the Internet Archive. This must be a pirate copy.
Interesting IMO mainly for the aerial photography of the B-36 bomber, built originally to bomb Berlin from bases in Newfoundland, never completed in time for that, and then re-purposed as the only bomber big enough to carry the first H-bombs.

Barbara Stanwyck and Walter Huston star in Anthony Mann's western The Furies (1950), a slightly noirish nicely overheated psycho-sexual-emotional melodrama. Not a perfect film but fascinating and hugely enjoyable with Stanwyck and Huston in top form.

#AnthonyMann #JohnAlton #filmnoir Film noir doesn't get much better than Anthony Mann’s Raw Deal (1948). A jailbreak goes wrong. Complex characters, noir fatalism and a real atmosphere of impending doom. Superb cinematography by John Alton.

The Great Flamarion is an early (1945) Anthony Mann film noir. Erich von Stroheim, Dan Duryea and Mary Beth Hughes do a trick-shooting theatrical show but sexual jealousy and guns can be a nasty combination. Fine performances, good movie.

4 westerns you need to see
Law and Order (AKA Guns A'Blazin, 1932). The bleakest of all pre-1960s westerns.
Winchester '73 (1950). James Stewart discovers his dark side.
7 Men From Now (1956). Budd Boetticher's greatest film.
No Name on the Bullet (1959). Very modern for the 50s.
