I've been at it again with my Agents of Sanity project. This song is about the people in the US being disappeared & is heavily inspired lyrically by one of Anne Frank's poems. Thanks, should also be given to Ani DiFranco for reminding me that protest songs should give you hope & courage.

Also, a reminder that tomorrow is #BandCamp Friday. This is one's free, but go & throw some coins at someone you love.

Its time for @subfm! It’s episode #207 and this time the guest mix comes from N.E.Girl!

Esther Kakai aka N.E.GIRL is Nairobi-born, London-raised and Copenhagen-based, and these cultural identities sing throughout her work.N.E.GIRL is not just a lethal weapon behind the decks, but a community builder behind the scenes, she describes her sound as “techno-infused and sub-bass driven”. It’s dark but soulful, peppered with “fun, syncopated rhythms”.

Be sure to tune in, join the Sub FM chat and listen to her guest mix full of haunting, deep, experimental and dubby vibes in hour two! i will do the usual warm-up in hour one!

hey #bass players! i’m looking for an #amp recommendation. currently the only one i have is a little 1x8 ampeg practice amp, i think only 30 or 35w. it’s fine for practice at home, but isn’t gonna handle much more than that.

i’m working on getting into an actual band(!) and will need an actual honest-to-god amp at some point in the near future, for rehearsals and probably small-venue gigs. i can spend a little bit on an amp, budget isn’t the biggest concern within reason, but i’m not looking for a super high-end rig that will cost thousands of dollars either.

what i’m really looking to get a feel for is: do i walk into Guitar Center or someplace and buy an affordable combo amp (200w-500w?) off the sales floor, or do i order a separate amp head and cabinet set? how much of a difference will it really make? have y’all had any success or horror stories with certain pieces of gear, brands, etc.?

not expecting y’all to have all the answers for my specific situation, but really interested to hear what kind of amps or other gear y’all like!

So, finally got around to restringing the Ibanez SRMS800 bass and I realized a few things:

- The previous set of strings came in the mail already dead. This isn't a huge deal unless...
- ...you swapped out the pickups and amp in the bass and were thoroughly unimpressed with the "upgrade" at the time

Also, holy shit, this thing is now a beast and I'm so annoyed that I didn't think to order another set of strings. However, I'm now officially very happy with the end results even if the results are a bit on the late side. #music #bass
