New video just dropped a couple of days ago promoting #bitwig on #linux and general #linuxaudio info for beginners that are curious about #musicproduction on linux.

I may be missing something obvious. But why does #bitwig show midi clips with their own timeline (measures/beats) when you are editing them, rather than the global timeline? I know you can show global time in mins and secs, but not global measures and beats, it would seem.
Maybe there are advantages to this approach but for me it seems to just add a confusing layer of abstraction, and it can be very counter-intuitive when trying to line up midi notes with the global context/timeline in mind.
Especially if you have resized the midi event, rather than cutting it. Then it's even more tricky to work out what's going on.
Bitwig 6 is coming soon, the wait is FINALLY over https://youtu.be/OaH5xMsD9Tk

Leaving this here for all #bitwig users on #linux. May it save you hours of debugging:
If you run into weird UI latency issues in Bitwig 5.3.x, try setting the graphics system to OpenGL via CTRL+Enter -> Advanced Settings.
Kudos to https://www.reddit.com/user/tm604/ for his reply on https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitwig/comments/1lx3p1l/help_the_ui_feels_slow_and_clunky_on_ubuntu/.
Saw no one mention this technique, thought I share because useful. #Bitwig #musodon - https://youtu.be/6LKz60K48Ps
