Die Proteste in #Serbien haben ein historisches Ausmaß erreichtt. Sie fordern Gerechtigkeit für die Opfer des Einsturzes des Bahnhofsvordachs von #Novi_Sad. Ihre Forderung ist also ein Ende der #Korruption und echte #Demokratie. Von #Europa wünschen sie sich dabei Solidarität - statt des bisherigen Stillschweigens. Heute ist in #Budapest die Delegation der serbischen Studierenden angekommen, welche nach #Strasbourg mit dem Fahrrad fahren, um dort ein paar Forderungen an europäische Institutionen anzubringen. Auf dem Hősök tere (Heldenplatz) erwartete sie eine große Menge solidarischer Menschen, vor allem Serb*innen aus der Diaspora, mit Musik, guter Stimmung und reichlich Essen. Der Platz war bewusst gewählt: Bei der Einfahrt auf dem Platz passierten sie die serbische Botschaft.

Die Menge ist bereit für den Empfang am Heldenplatz.
Die Fahrraddelegation kommt an und passiert die serbische Botschaft unter lautem jubel.

Budapest, 1919. This was the year Hungary had its own Soviet-style revolution, led by the communist Béla Kun. The revolution quickly collapsed when Romania invaded Hungary a few months later. Kun escaped to the Soviet Union, where he was eventually executed in the 1930s as a "Trotskyite". I'm not sure if this photo is of Kun himself, but it certainly has a revolutionary feel about it.
