So you know how we were second in a list of Top Canadian Game Podcasts.
Well today I was contacted to say we are FIRST in the list of Top 10 Canadian Board Games Podcasts.
An important distinction and even cooler than the last announcement.
Got an email letting us know we are in the Top 25 Canadian Gaming Podcasts!
So I checked out the list and we are at number 2!
They sent a shiny badge too :D
@jonny @SnoopJ @ryan that little tom cochrane harmonica overlay killed me #Monsterdon #cancon
What a wonderful, gentle new show for children!
It brings the calmness and kindness of the Mr. Dressup and Mr. Rogers approach to children’s television to a new era with HD widescreen quality.
This week art editor Walter Liu explores propaganda and the immigrant experience as he reviews the early Canadian artist Cornelius Krieghoff in his piece entitled “Everyone’s Got Cholera.”

Happy #CanadaDay. I figured, it might be fun to share this #CanadaLand episode where one of the McKenzie brothers explains the role #CanCon played in helping #Canada get a reputation of saying "eh?" David Thomas does a great job explaining the history of #SCTV — funny how culture comes into being. Welcome to the Great White North!

Update ... no one reacted. It is an oldies night after all. I may need to up my game. OK, slipping "Virginia" by Barbara Amesbury into the mix ... stand by
I had no idea this existed.
A new show with Melanie Scrofano in the principal role? Count me as intrigued.
Translation:
Manifesto
I don't sing for the love of singing,
or because I have a good voice.
I sing because my guitar
has both feeling and reason.
It has a heart of earth
and the wings of a dove,
it is like holy water,
blessing joy and grief.
My song has found a purpose
as Violeta* would say.
Hardworking guitar,
with a smell of spring.
My guitar is not for the rich
no, nothing like that.
My song is of the ladder
we are building to reach the stars.
For a song has meaning
when it beats in the veins
of a man who will die singing,
truthfully singing his songs.
My song is not for fleeting praise
nor to gain foreign fame,
it is for this narrow country**
to the very depth of the earth.
There, where everything comes to rest
and where everything begins,
song which has been brave song
will be forever new.

@AqiDrago
It was a bit tricky to figure where to fit last week’s #GuyKlucevsek episode of @accordionnoir radio into this arbitrary system
After my #ListeningClub selection we did an almost two-hour “best of” set of his work on radio
But was that “Concert/classical”? or “Jazz/Blues”? or even “Folk influenced”?
Not that it matters. It’s all “Special Interest” (not popular music) so the #CanCon requirements are lower. Good since Guy is not Canadian

Reading back on these, “pop music” to me is anything that vaguely resembles popular music
Especially in Canada where we have legally mandated genres to consider when putting together radio programs that require 20–30% Canadian content
Is your favourite show CanCon enough? Here's why the definition of Canadian content may get a reboot
Oh, here's a lovely bit of #CanCon
Help me out. Due to recent world events, I'm really digging in to #CanCon for my music listening.
Old stuff is easy to find. I was there when it was written. But even the 'newer' stuff in my mind still seems about a decade out of date.
Who should I be listening to from the last decade or so?
