So, how soon after Carney wins will Trudeau claim he would have won the election?
"Poses low risk to humans" is the nicest thing anyone outside of Australia has ever said about Vegemite.
All you need to know about Pierre Poilievre in one headline:
https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/levant-rebel-poilievre-1.7514216
"On both nights [#MarkCarney] and Poilievre were peddling competing transparent fictions. Poilievre’s claim is that Carney was the architect of JustinTrudeauism. Carney’s is that he “just got here,” as he put it on Wednesday, and cannot be held responsible for anything that happened in Canada before March."

If you are in Canada, and have not received your voting card by the mail, verify that you are registered online.
I just found out tonight I apparently have been de-registered from the voting list. None of my information has changed since the last federal election. This is super weird.
Registering online did not work for unknown reasons, and the phone line isn't available on weekends.
This is bad.
EDIT: To specify, I'm not worried that I will not be able to vote and I know what to do.
I'm worried this might have also happened to other people, who will only discover it on voting day, might not be able or willing to wait the extra time to register, and will simply leave before voting.
This could add an especially long wait at the polls if it happened to a lot of people.
Long lines at polling stations...

Good job everyone.
Vote like our country depends on it.
Cause it does.
Show the Mango Mussolini that we do love our country.
I am so pumped to go and vote for one of three flavors of neoliberal capitalism.
Wait, did I say three? Oops. I mean two.
I am voterated. #CanPol
Dear Canadians, VOTE. It’s your chance to decide if you want Canada to be this beautiful, independent sovereign nation or if you want to become the 51st play toy of Russia’s puppet state.
Choose wisely. #canpol #Canadavotes #Elexn45
The #CBC At Issue panel discusses last night's #LeadersDebate: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=q59fq-TsEgY&pp=ygUMY2JjIGF0IGlzc3Vl
It was a good debate for #PierrePoilievre, they say, and #MarkCarney showed his inexperience at politics. (FWIW, #Polymarket's odds for a Liberal win went up about 2% at the end of the debate, and then drifted down by the same amount.)
#ChantalHébert points out that if the #CPC were to go up in overall support, that would likely push more NDP/BQ voters to the Liberals in response.
"I think Parliament should be allowed to specify penalties for crimes. I think that’s the kind of decision that properly belongs to elected legislatures, to people who must encounter and answer to the public from time to time, and not exclusively to ephors in ermine."
It's not 'cruel and unusual' to keep multi-murderers in jail for life

I genuinely cannot imagine anyone in Canada caring about PM debates.
And I say that as someone deeply and profoundly invested in the outcome of the elections.
i've been mixing up where i thought i saw a bit of footage. it's not in You Are On Indian Land, which is also not an Alanis Obomsawin film like i thought it was.
the documentary i was thinking of is an Alanis Obomsawin film, and it's called Kanehsatake: 270 Years Of Resistance. it's about the Oka Crisis of 1990, a standoff between the canadian military and Kanien’kéhaka (Mohawk) land defenders. at the 51m45s mark, you can see how white canadians treated Indigenous people for defending their land. our government supports this same kind of pogrom violence against Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza.
if you're scratching your head about how fascism could possibly grow in canada, watch this documentary, and watch what the white people do. that's what canada cultivated. that's what canada is. the events of this film only took place 35 years ago.

Boom! #MarkCarney serves up a smoking fastball on #PierrePoilievre — no way he can handle that — but he smacks it back, straight at Mr. Carney's head.
(Referring of course to Mr. Carney's question about Mr. Poilievre's lack of security clearance, and the latter replying, then bringing up the slowness in dropping #PaulChiang.)
I hear some fash media representatives got violent outside the big Canadian Election debate tonight?
Fascism is at play here, in every country we see these American style tactics, it is Fascism.
Like WWII, ...that Fascism, ....death camps and boots in the face of Humanity Fascism.
The correct answer to whether Canada should give more support is "Yes". Not the right answer from #PierrePoilievre...
And did Mr. Blanchet just say Hamas must be destroyed/defeated? Good for him if so.
