Personne n’a envie de voir des images aussi effroyables, mais elles témoignent de ce qui se passe à Gaza depuis l’attaque du 7 octobre 2023. Un cauchemar « C’est un rêve ou une réalité ? » demande une petite fille abasourdie par ses blessures. C’est un cauchemar, sans aucun doute, et rien ne peut le justifier, ni les crimes du 7 octobre ni la détention des otages israéliens par le Hamas. Condamner tous les crimes du 7 octobre, d’avant et d’après, condamner l’antisémitisme et toutes les formes de racisme, c’est le sens commun. Il semble cependant qu’il faille le préciser. Toute personne normalement constituée souhaite que les otages survivants puissent un jour retrouver leurs familles et que s’arrête immédiatement le massacre à Gaza. Mais aller jusqu’au bout de la démarche, c’est voir les choses en face, voir ce qui se passe à Gaza depuis le 7 octobre, ce que fait l’armée israélienne, ce que ne montrent pas les chaînes de télévision. Des journalistes documentent Reporters Sans Frontières a dénoncé la mort d’une centaine de journalistes, tués à Gaza par l’armée israélienne entre le 7 octobre 2023 et début juin 2024, souvent délibérément ciblés, comme l’ont été des soignants et du personnel humanitaire, parmi les dizaines de milliers de gens bombardés ou visés par des snipers, mutilés, déplacés, affamés, harcelés, torturés, des familles entièrement décimées (dont au moins 40 % sont des enfants), dans leurs habitations, dans la rue, dans des écoles, dans des hôpitaux, dans des ambulances, dans des camps de réfugiés… Le bilan s’alourdit en permanence, il est mis à jour par les ONG. L’Unicef alertait dès le début : « La bande de Gaza est aujourd’hui l’endroit le plus dangereux au monde pour un enfant. » (voir site de l'Unicef) Ce film de montage a été réalisé par le journaliste et député Aymeric Caron avec l’aide d’une équipe, qui a identifié, trié et daté ces images, contacté des journalistes sur place. Sans autres commentaires que les titres et légendes qui datent et donnent les sources des images envoyées depuis Gaza comme des bouteilles à la mer par des filmeurs et des filmeuses, journalistes qui continuent à travailler dans des conditions terribles alors qu’aucun de leurs collègues étrangers n’est autorisé à entrer dans cette zone de crime de 360 km2. Leurs images se percutent avec des prises de paroles israéliennes, officielles et dissidentes, ainsi que des vidéos postées sur les réseaux par des soldats israéliens.
