Anne JokisaariTaivaanvuohi ja piiiiiiitkä nokka! Snipe and the looooong bill! Rankkojen sateiden jälkeen kosteikko taisi olla hyvin vetinen, kun taivaanvuohi pöllähti tänään suoraan eteeni niitylle. Ei ihan jokapäiväinen tapahtuma! :-) Lintu katseli minua tarkasti ja käveli korkean ruohon sekaan. Kaikenlaista syötävää löytynee paremmin nyt kuin kuivilla säillä, vaikka tuolla nokalla kaivaa syvältäkin proteiiniruokaa. Suomenkielinen nimitys taivaanvuohi tulee mäkättävistä äänistä, joita kuulee soidinajan hämäräaikoina. Se ei ole linnun laulua vaan pystösulkien aiheuttamia ääniä nopeassa alaslennossa, jolla ilmeisesti tehdään vaikutus naaraaseen.
