in 1998, A young man in #Coventry #West #Midlands had just got his first #mobile #phone and (possibly whilst drunk) sent #SMS to random numbers. A young woman replied (thinking it was from someone she knew). The pair kept exchanging messages, later phone calls, eventually met up and got married 4 years later (they are still married, have 2 kids and are renewing their vows!)

Google is not being obtuse. The major arterials really are like that.
They run through the remnants of what used to be separate villages in what used to be Warwickshire. Across that M6 roundabout from the M69 is the A4600, which in the 1940s was a country road out from a much smaller #Coventry through a bunch of villages (Wyken, Walsgrave) that are now suburb housing estates.
Even Stoke was once just a village.
There are, I am very reliably informed, some parts of #Coventry that are definitely not best visited in the dark. Their description sounds like that of Byker in the 1980s.
M1+M69? Or M1+M42+M6?
At least take in all of the sights of #Coventry whilst you are there.
The several disjoint roads labelled A444. The roadworks (last that I heard) on Jimmy Hill Way. The various views of the unbuilt Solihull Interchange from the M6 and M42. The self-contradictory A45 lane markings at Tollbar End.
And of course the literally unmissable ring road.
