Someone on LinkedIn suggests that since Epic is 1/3 owned by <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23Tencent" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Tencent</a>, the reason they want to avoid the AppStore is that they want more data off of Epic gamers.
