Michal Bryxí 🌱<p>I said it before and happy to repeat again: Either you're using <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/EmberData" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>EmberData</span></a> / <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/WarpDrive" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>WarpDrive</span></a> for managing data in your <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/JS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>JS</span></a> application or you're building cascade of future traps for yourself.</p><p><a href="https://veganism.social/tags/EmberJS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>EmberJS</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/Fetch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Fetch</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/XHR" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>XHR</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/DX" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DX</span></a></p>
Michal Bryxí 🌱<p>I've worked for two big companies using <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/EmberJS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>EmberJS</span></a>. For different reasons they both decided to not go with <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/EmberData" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>EmberData</span></a> and build home grown solution instead.<br>With the distance I have now, I'm pretty confident to say that in both cases it was a mistake and costed us tons of unnecessarily burned resources.</p>
runspired<p><span class="h-card"><a href="https://fosstodon.org/@rauschma" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>rauschma</span></a></span> this is absolutely massive! Set diffs and unions are probably one of the most common operations I work with in <a href="https://nodots.xyz/tags/emberdata" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>emberdata</span></a></p>
Michal Bryxí 🌱<p>So to automatically convert between `date` attribute in <a href="https://mastodon.coffee/tags/EmberData" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>EmberData</span></a> and native <a href="https://mastodon.coffee/tags/HTML" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HTML</span></a> input of type `datetime-local` one has to do something like this:</p>
runspired 🐹<p>The new Cache implementation is humming along getting ready to support the Store portion of RequestManager <a href="https://github.com/emberjs/data/pull/8315" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">github.com/emberjs/data/pull/8</span><span class="invisible">315</span></a></p><p>If you're wondering *what else* <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/EmberData" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>EmberData</span></a> has planned for 5.0, we've got 2 big RFCs still to go that build on these and if you'd be willing to help write them the implementations would probably ship by Jan 1st!<br>(1) Pagination-By-Default (queries and relationships) and (2) Schema Driven Model implementation to replace @ember-data/model</p>
