Ian Neill<p>Finally got <a href="https://mastodon.ie/tags/samba" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>samba</span></a> working again, again, on my <a href="https://mastodon.ie/tags/LXLE" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>LXLE</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.ie/tags/Focal64" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Focal64</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.ie/tags/linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>linux</span></a> box.</p><p>So annoying that it seems to regularly break after samba is updated.</p><p>This time I just could not get it to work again no matter how much I tinkered with smb.conf. In the end I just purged samba and reinstalled it.</p><p>After I added my smb user, added a share and restarted smbd, it all just worked . Now able to browse and read/write linux->windows and vice -versa! Hurrah!</p><p>And that smb.conf file has also been backed up...</p>
