This is one of my favorite videos by the Trio Mandili from the country of Georgia. Every country should have random taxi drivers who are ready to play some folk music.

Thought we'd revisit a classic. At least now you get to think of fun TLJ songs whenever Windows is making sounds at you :)
From last Summer. At the BC Government House Music on the Lawns outdoor concert series.
With #Celtic #Scottish #musicians #friends in our local #Cookeilidh ( Cook - Kay - Lee ) band.
Cookeilidh has been delighting audiences for over 15 years with their high energy traditional, and modernized Celtic tunes. Comprised of 12-string guitar, electric bass, Irish flute, fiddle, bodhran, and vocals, they weave their own special blend of Trad with Attitude, Celtic Craic, and Pot O' Gold Folk!
Mixing the tunes of #Ireland and #Scotland, with a heaping spoonful of #Maritime flavour, and a dash of #Folk is their recipe for a modern day kitchen party!
Members and Instruments:
Dave Cook: Acoustic 12 String Guitar & Vocals
Woody Wilson: Irish Wooden Flute, Bodhran, & Bones
Tom Pogson: Electric Bass, Acoustic Bass & Vocals
Kim Cook: Fiddle, Percussion
I've been listening to Spiers & Boden's album "Fallow Ground" recently. The first track is a great version of the Australian folk song "Bluey Brink". Jon Boden added the following note about the song:
"A gem from the repertoire of Peter Bellamy and our first foray into the world of Australian folk song. Please note that drinking sulphuric acid will not make your beard catch fire, except at the subsequent cremation."
𝗟𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗵𝗲𝗻 - 𝗦𝗼𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝗺 - 𝟭𝟵𝟲𝟵
𝟱𝟲 𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝘂𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗱'𝗵𝘂𝗶...

That's two of the Pieces of Eight now in your hands (Bandcamp is on its way!), so how are you enjoying it? Got a favourite so far? Something you're hoping to hear on a future collection?

My hosting plan for Adobe & Teardrops expires on Monday and I won't be renewing it. I've started a second job on top of my day job and Rainbow Rodeo is feeling like a very urgent project right now. I haven't been able to devote the time necessary to keep Adobe & Teardrops running, so as difficult as it is to say, it's time to let her go.
Stay in touch and sign up for the @RainbowRodeo@lgbtqia.space newsletter. Thank you for fourteen years of support.
Gave a concert with my duo Akleja yesterday evening very locally, only a one hour drive from home - which means I was able to spend some time in my garden before heading out! This is the life, folks! I love playing local gigs, what a dream
Wishing you a good weekend and that you can make some time to listen to a piece of music in silence, go for a walk and smell some flowers
Australian band reunite to celebrate 15 years since breakthrough debut
By Jared Richards
Cloud Control are reuniting to celebrate 15 years of debut album Bliss Release — the hazy, psych-folk that dominated 2010s airwaves and won the Australian Music Prize.

In his last few outings, John Calvin Abney has brought us to vast new solar systems of cosmic music, but Shortwaving is a return to earth of sorts. The EP is one half blues and one half meditative jam. Shortwaving is world-weary but beautiful: no matter how many punches Abney takes, there is still a sense of wonder about the twists and turns of the journey.
