I would've liked to have posted this sooner, but I really didn't want to cut into my already disrupted October plans.</p><p>I have to post this now.</p><p>I think it's obvious at this point that I support Kamala Harris and the Democrats in this election, and I think it's obvious why, as a <a href="https://yiff.life/tags/queer" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>queer</span></a> and <a href="https://yiff.life/tags/disabled" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>disabled</span></a> <a href="https://yiff.life/tags/transgender" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>transgender</span></a> <a href="https://yiff.life/tags/furry" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>furry</span></a>, I would support the party that has given people like me more protections over the one that has openly tried to go after them.</p><p>I need not remind people of the years we've spent fighting against Republicans on <a href="https://yiff.life/tags/GayMarriage" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GayMarriage</span></a>, <a href="https://yiff.life/tags/TransRights" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TransRights</span></a>, <a href="https://yiff.life/tags/Disability" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Disability</span></a> protections like the <a href="https://yiff.life/tags/ADA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ADA</span></a>, Pro-Choice issues even beyond abortion and <a href="https://yiff.life/tags/BodyModification" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BodyModification</span></a> into <a href="https://yiff.life/tags/BodilyAutonomy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BodilyAutonomy</span></a> in general, and claims that <a href="https://yiff.life/tags/furries" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>furries</span></a> are trying to "put litterboxes in school <a href="https://yiff.life/tags/bathrooms" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bathrooms</span></a>."</p><p>This thread is not about any of those things.</p><p>READ ON.</p><p>(1/?)</p>

She's a politician who has had to run for election to specific offices in specific regions with specific constituencies who care about specific issues. </p><p>Electoral politics is the art of finding the best mix of your personal views and the views of your constituents. This are never going to mesh 100%. A good politician is ready to follow the will of their people but also attempt to persuade those people to another course. </p><p>In the 80s and 90s the big scary thing the media were forcing down our throats were violent crime and drug crime, so Harris focused on those things. </p><p>Hell, <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/Obama" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Obama</span></a> was against <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/gaymarriage" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>gaymarriage</span></a> until he was for it.
