I'm having a friend and their partner over for a New Years Eve filled with pizza and weed. I'm really anxious. I don't have people in my apartment much, and I wasn't able to clean and organize as much as I wanted to. I tried to spread it out over a few days, but my pain has been much worse lately. Managed to get the majority of the cleaning done that I needed to today. Thinking about trying to go to a craft group they are having at my building tomorrow. Just super anxious about it. And when I’ve gone to groups here in the past, my neighbours take it as a time to ambush me with a million questions about my service dog, which makes it even harder for me to focus. Dealing with ADHD while attending group therapy is rough. We watched a video today, and I felt like I could die of boredom. Yes, that’s dramatic. Yes, that’s still how I felt It’s so hard to focus in general during the group without videos added to the mix. Plus my anxiety makes concentrating even harder. I’m so tired. I tried to fall asleep for over 3 hours, and eventually gave up. Now I have to stay awake until at least 10 PM or I’ll mess up my sleep even worse. I have my psych appt in about 2.5 hours, and I’m super anxious about it. I really feel that I need some sort of medication adjustment, but I’m not sure if that will happen since I had one not super long ago. So, it turns out I don't have #OCD; it's just garden-variety #GeneralizedAnxietyDisorder with (already diagnosed) comorbid #ASD.

Honestly, I'm incredibly relieved. ERP sounded intimidating and scary; hopefully the treatment for #GAD will be less horrifying.

Anyway I'm glad I actually spoke to medical professionals about it rather than attempting self-help stuff for an incorrect self-diagnosis.

Just knowing that what I’m going through right this moment will change—and that change is happening, whether or not I notice it—helps me get through a lot of days.

Today's Positive Psychology class centred on #GeneralizedAnxietyDisorder #GAD. As I said to my Lecturer, I've never felt so seen!
