Now the same unit (assuming one can find one to rent, since many are now condos) would be $4,000 a month! The public discussion that followed the fierce riot that unfolded and the threats made by members of the greek government to crush the anarchist movement in the neighbourhood, was about the events of that night, but purposely avoided addressing the reasons that led to that.</p><p>Exarcheia has always been a place under siege and attack. But in the last few years, the transformation of the neighborhood is taking place through systemic violence, with <a href="https://todon.nl/tags/gentrification" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>gentrification</span></a> as a weapon. Once a cradle of radical thought and political resistance, the neighborhood is now the site of what many describe as an occupation.</p>

Hence why people kept it under their mattress and effectively so as in banks has only gets worse apart from 'safe keeping of it'</p><p><a href="https://qoto.org/tags/War" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>War</span></a> of course provided by banks if most wealth needs storing "safely" (again to re-<a href="https://qoto.org/tags/loan" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>loan</span></a> it to other behind your back).</p><p>Again other wealth but consider just <a href="https://qoto.org/tags/banks" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>banks</span></a> as 1 <a href="https://qoto.org/tags/hornets" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hornets</span></a> nest... and </p><p>➡️ If it's not geared towards Sharing then it's bad. <a href="https://qoto.org/tags/Privatization" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Privatization</span></a> / <a href="https://qoto.org/tags/Gentrification" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Gentrification</span></a> / raising the bar always makes it a losing and inevitable power things as inequality with these <a href="https://qoto.org/tags/problems" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>problems</span></a> above - almost total control on people individual life itself (no <a href="https://qoto.org/tags/food" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>food</span></a> or <a href="https://qoto.org/tags/shelter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>shelter</span></a>).</p><p>Quality of life can be that much better for poor people as modern times are based on using / leveraging the poor people or even countries for the upper class / authorities <a href="https://qoto.org/tags/ultimatums" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ultimatums</span></a> (not just 1 but continual) else face <a href="https://qoto.org/tags/death" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>death</span></a> /#turmoil...
