Gil Brewer’s 1963 Memory of Passion is oddball noir fiction, drenched in lust, desperation and craziness. Bill meets a woman from his past. It’s her all right, but it isn’t. It’s not the same woman, but it is. Frenetic, crazed, fascinating.

Gil Brewer's Nude on Thin Ice, a 1960 noir novel with a protagonist driven by greed and lust. The male and female characters are all depraved and corrupt. Very sleazy, very noir and very good. And there is a nude in the book and she is on ice.

The Three-Way Split is a 1960 pulp noir title by Gil Brewer. It concerns a treasure hunt.

The protagonist is a genuine noir hero. He’s a good man but with weaknesses. He’s a decent guy but he’s desperate. He needs that treasure. What will a man do for that sort of money?

This is fast-moving action, perhaps more adventure noir than straightforward crime noir. Recommended.
