Javier Jardón<p>I found the first one!! Abderrahim's <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/GNOMEOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GNOMEOS</span></a> phone! <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/GUADEC2025" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GUADEC2025</span></a></p>
Just… Josh :BlobCatTrashed:<p><a href="https://polymaths.social/tags/gnomeos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GnomeOS</span></a> was fun to play around with. I was thinking of installing it on my lappy, but it lacks the ability to easily install drivers (need broadcom drivers for wifi).<br><br>So now I am trying out <a href="https://polymaths.social/tags/pikaos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PikaOS</span></a>, a gamer oriented <a href="https://polymaths.social/tags/debian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Debian</span></a> <a href="https://polymaths.social/tags/sid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Sid</span></a> based distro; specifically I am trying out there <a href="https://polymaths.social/tags/niri" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Niri</span></a> edition. So far things look pretty cool out of the box.</p>
Javier Jardón<p>On my way to one of the best conferences of the year! Get all your devices with <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/GNOMEOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GNOMEOS</span></a> ready! :) <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/GUADEC2025" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GUADEC2025</span></a></p>
Linux G. Just… Josh :BlobCatTrashed:<p>Okay, after playing around some more with <a href="https://polymaths.social/tags/gnomeos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GnomeOS</span></a> I am liking what it is: a <a href="https://polymaths.social/tags/gnome" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Gnome</span></a> centric <a href="https://polymaths.social/tags/flatpak" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Flatpak</span></a> driven atomic/immutable operating system.<br><br>After some tinkering and hunting around, I was able to find alternatives to the many apps/packages that I would install via the <a href="https://polymaths.social/tags/cli" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CLI</span></a>. Honestly it is kind of nice being able to do almost everything in a well crafted <a href="https://polymaths.social/tags/gui" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GUI</span></a>.<br><br>I am going to play with it some more. Maybe this will be the OS that changes my minds towards immutable/atomic distros?</p>
Just… Josh :BlobCatTrashed:<p>Currently playing around with two thingies at the moment:<br>1) Playing around with the <a href="https://polymaths.social/tags/cinnamon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Cinnamon</span></a> DE (plain Cinnamon, not the Ubuntu altered version) on the <a href="https://polymaths.social/tags/orangepirv2" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>OrangePiRV2</span></a>. So far things are looking good AND Chromium works (at least on the <a href="https://polymaths.social/tags/wayland" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Wayland</span></a> session; have not tested the <a href="https://polymaths.social/tags/xorg" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Xorg</span></a> session).<br><br>2) I found a spare external ssd drive that I am testing out <a href="https://polymaths.social/tags/gnomeos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GnomeOS</span></a> with my main PC. It looks interesting; some decisions they made seem a bit odd...<br><br>Oh here is a cursory screenshot of the Orange Pi running Cinnamon. Also, this was written on the Orange Pi too! (see if you can spot the typos in my screenshot)<br><br><a href="https://polymaths.social/tags/neofetch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Neofetch</span></a></p>
Valentin David<p>Thanks to the work of pioneers from <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/postmarketos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>postmarketos</span></a> it is actually easy to install any Linux OS on some phones. Here is <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/gnomeos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gnomeos</span></a> on a OnePlus 6 that was installed through USB using systemd-repart. A few tweaks here and there, but it is almost stock GNOME OS.</p>

Izzy :QueerCat_Bisexual: :QueerCat_Trans:<p>I'm using GNOME OS on my laptop right now, and it seems so smooth and quick compared to other distros I've used before.</p><p>Idk if I'm ready to switch over permanently (or if I'm gonna at all), but my experience so far is suprisingly good for the state its in. Børge<p>I hope I'm doing ok in the Gnome OS summer challenge. I don't get any feedback on my issues, so I feel a bit uncertain, but I know everyone has a lot to do, and hopefully some summer weather to enjoy too :D Hopefully someone will let me know if I do anything wrong, before I make too much unnecessary work for others :S </p><p><a href="https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-build-meta/-/issues/?sort=updated_desc&amp;state=opened&amp;author_username=forteller1&amp;first_page_size=20" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-b</span><span class="invisible">uild-meta/-/issues/?sort=updated_desc&amp;state=opened&amp;author_username=forteller1&amp;first_page_size=20</span></a></p><p><a href="https://tutoteket.no/tags/gnome" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gnome</span></a> <a href="https://tutoteket.no/tags/gnomeOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gnomeOS</span></a></p>
Micah Ilbery :sloth_coffee:<p>Ok, I think I'm mostly moved over to GNOME OS on my laptop. Everything seems to be going good so far. I just gotta sign into everything again and set app settings and whatnot. Then I'll go through the list of open issues on the gitlab so I'll know roughly what has already been reported and if there is anything new I should point out.<br><a href="https://slothsneed.coffee/tags/gnome" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GNOME</span></a> <a href="https://slothsneed.coffee/tags/gnomeos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GnomeOS</span></a> <a href="https://slothsneed.coffee/tags/flatpak" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>flatpak</span></a> <a href="https://slothsneed.coffee/tags/imagedbased" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ImagedBased</span></a></p>
Tobias Bernard<p>This summer we're asking the question: What if we just started using GNOME OS as our primary OS?</p><p>It's still early days for GNOME OS, but it's finally ready for wider testing by developers and early adopters, on real hardware.
