I still use an #Apple #HomePod I bought in 2018. it still sounds amazing.

The one device that really drives me nuts when it comes to Apple OS updates is the HomePod. I have 5 in the house, two sets of stereo pairs and one by itself. I can never figure out how to get them to update consistently. To be honest, I am not even sure if an update was made available for them today. #apple #HomePod #HomePodOS26

3. I want to control the HomePod music from my macOS computer.

4. ??? What am I missing‽

I feel like I'm losing my mind.
This used to be easy and obvious.

Switched all but one #HomePod minis for #Sonos speakers.

Now I have to sell them. I hate dealing with people that want to buy used tech.

But okay, I also hated to deal with the people that sold me used tech, so I guess this will be a terrible experience in both directions.

OMG! This looks amazing! Modern hardware in a retro style shell. Surely not a cheap build. There's a #MacMini inside. The display is an #iPad. And at the back is a hidden #HomePod

music app on my phone is playing one song that i hear on the pods

but it’s playing a different song on the phone

the app only shows the song that’s playing on the pods. if i pause it, the pods pause, but a different song is still playing on the phone

but the phone app also shows that music is paused

why am i bothering you with this?

“Hey Siri, play some music”
“Ok, here’s some music picked just for you.”
“Hey Siri, stop”
“Ok, you need to continue on a companion device”
“Hey Siri, for crying out loud, just shut the **** up.”

That's weird. While we were in the living room the #HomePod in the bedroom suddenly said something I didn't understand. Then it played music I never heard before.

I then restarted it. Shortly after it said something again and beeped three times. That's kind of scary.

My wife said this happened multiple times today, that it randomly said things when no one was near it.

I guess it's time to replace all HomePods bit by bit with a #HomeAssistant Voice.

I have a scene that contains multiple devices. Lately #Siri (via #HomePod) tells me that a device didn’t respond, but when I check, everything in the scene is responding and in the correct new state.

I really wish Siri would tell you which decice(s) it had trouble with. Apple’s insistence on minimal error UI is very frustrating.

My mother has an Apple #Homepod. It plays music through Apple Music just fine, but apparently getting it to ‘stop’ requires the companion device (her iPhone).

I can’t find the setting in the Home app that says ‘play this crap forever until the listener loses their mind’. She can’t always get to her phone due to mobility issues.

It’ll stop for me though, even though I’m a ‘guest’ user. I have no idea what is going on.

My HomePod Mini's humidity sensor says it's 44% but my humidifier says it's 53%. Don't know which one to believe. #homepod
