The #OBR report has confirmed they were only told about the massive overspends in #Hunt's Spring Statement last week.

They confirmed the Tories covered up a £22 billion black hole by not outlining where their revenue spending would fall and so by publishing this report today and mentioning this point, the OBR are challenging the honesty and integrity of Hunt specifically and the Conservative Treasury of the time generally.

That's a very extreme matter.

Prior to his Autumn Statement last year #Hunt, the Chancellor was told that he had a headroom of £31bn which was reduced to £13bn once all his policies were factored in including the 2p cut to national insurance.

In no uncertain terms, OBR advised Hunt that his Budget was too expensive as a package and ate into the £6bn spare cash he was planning to keep as a buffer out of his expected £13bn headroom.

This is all going to come back on him this week.
