is the theme of the 2025 Indigenous Gulf Stream (More Inspo Here).
Over the next five months, Bvlancha Public Access is commissioning Gulf South Indigenous artists, creators, and thinkers to contribute content considering this topic through three open calls (View Open Calls).
This past Friday March 21st, a beloved NOLA community member Xeena was issued a 5 day order to vacate from her home.
We are urgently trying to raise another $4,000 over the next 4 days to avoid an eviction. You can give at the link below!
The very hopeful news is that there is a path forward for Xeena to get rental assistance. This would be so major and amazing and awesome! However in order for that to happen all of the back rent has to be paid so that a new lease can be issued for the process to move forward.
We can collectively help a Black disabled trans femme stay in her house. This is a matter of survival, of living or dying, of safety - please support if you can. And please spread the word!

We have adopted two Catahoula dogs, a mother and 2 month old daughter duo, to help support and protect the farmstead and our birds. They are both so smart, and their training is coming along nicely.

Haaa... a program I was excited for that was upcoming got completely absolutely cut by the Trump admin, the entire Rising Voices Center for Indigenous and Earth Sciences is gone now, their site pulled, all programs cut and staff let go. I just got an email saying the program was cancelled. I had to search to even find the text I found about it, putting here for remembrance in the next post.
They were going to do an #Indigenous coastal restoration program in Terrebonne/Lafourche this spring/summer... #IndigenousGulf #Louisiana
Edit: They will be back eventually!! "UCAR and NSF NCAR are no longer supporting the Rising Voices Center for Indigenous and Earth Sciences. We are needing a transition period but we will indeed carry forward... We emphasize that the work will continue."

Snow day at the farm! I believe this is the first blizzard the area has seen in recorded history. The farm birds are staying inside their coop with some heat lamps today!
Our fresh chicken and goose eggs will be available for sale starting tomorrow at the Lafayette Fightingville Fresh Market stand!
The market is open on Saturdays from 1-4pm CT, and on Tuesdays from 3-5pm CT!
